The topic of comic chats itself is not entirely new. In 1996, Microsoft published its Comic Chat with Internet Explorer 3.0. But what could a comic chat look like today? As part of a case study, our team dealt with this question in detail. The result is StoryBee, a very detailed concept for a comic chat app.
The app is aimed at the target group 15+ and combines the classic messenger with many elements known from comics. The user selects their personal avatar in the app shop and complements it with various accessories provided. In addition to the free starter set, further characters and extras can be purchased as in-app purchases in the shop.
During the chat, the avatar comes to life as the entire chat conversation is shown as an animated comic.
In addition to the overall user experience, a set of characters has already been developed and animated as part of the case study.
