A faceplate is a reusable HMI component, typically used within a SCADA system, to display and operate similar machine or plant components. The term is particularly common in Siemens and WinCC environments. Once designed, a faceplate can, for example, be used for multiple motors, valves or sensors and linked to the corresponding process data.

This enables consistent operating concepts and reusable structures to be created within a visualisation.
